PLEASURECRAFT’S TOMMIE COCHRAN RECEIVES SOUTH CAROLINA 2018 MANUFACTURING EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARD

LITTLE MOUNTAIN, SC (October 5, 2018) – Today, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce honored Pleasurecraft Engine Group Plant Manager, Tommie Cochran, with the 2018 Manufacturing Employee of the Year Award.

The S.C. Chamber distributes these awards annually in celebration of National Manufacturing Day at a panel discussion and an awards luncheon regarding the future of manufacturing in South Carolina. The Manufacturing Employee of the Year Award recognizes the important contributions honorees have made to their employers, customers and communities. The award showcases employee contributions in the areas of innovation, teamwork, community service and leadership.

Some of Cochran’s highlighted contributions include: his oversight of several facility improvements, such as the remodel of Pleasurecraft’s engineering and administrative buildings, the installation of a new dynamometer facility, as well as vast production line changes to accommodate the over 100% production increase Pleasurecraft has seen since his promotion to plant manager.

“We are proud of Tommie for receiving this accomplishment,” stated Pleasurecraft Engine Group President Mark McKinney. “He truly deserves this recognition from all of his efforts he has done to make Pleasurecraft engines better. Tommie has been instrumental in making our facility more efficient and providing a better environment for all of our employees to thrive in their work. Tommie is a valuable asset to the Pleasurecraft team and we are excited that he has been honored with this prestigious award.”
