Pleasurecraft Engine Group Partners with Operation Wakesurf and Hungry Heroes for the 5th Annual First Responders BBQ

LITTLE MOUNTAIN, SC (June 27, 2025) – Pleasurecraft Engine Group once again teamed up with Operation Wakesurf and Hungry Heroes to host the 5th Annual First Responders BBQ Lunch, honoring first responders and military personnel from Richland, Lexington, and Newberry Counties.

This much-anticipated event was dedicated to celebrating the courage and service of our local heroes. More than 100 first responders, military members, veterans, community leaders, and special guests enjoyed a great meal, fellowship, and a well-deserved break in their honor.

Based in Mooresville, NC, Operation Wakesurf is a nonprofit organization that gives back to first responders and military personnel by offering powerful, healing experiences on the water. Its mission blends the thrill of wake surfing with the restorative power of time spent outdoors—helping heroes’ recharge in a unique and meaningful way.

Hungry Heroes, known for its heartfelt outreach and unwavering support for first responders and veterans, has continued to bring communities together through events like this—sharing meals, gratitude, and appreciation with those who serve on the front lines and in our communities.

Pleasurecraft Engine Group was proud to support this cause and express its deep appreciation for the daily sacrifices made by fire, EMS, law enforcement, military personnel, and veterans.

Trey Thurman, President of Pleasurecraft Engine Group, shared his thoughts on the event:
“We were honored to bring this event back for its fifth year—as a small way to thank the men and women who work tirelessly to protect and serve our communities. From the camaraderie to the conversations, it’s always a powerful reminder of the incredible people behind the uniforms and the strength of the communities they support.”

Robby Maschhaupt, founder of Operation Wakesurf, shared his thanks:
“Partnering with Pleasurecraft allowed us to continue our mission of giving back to those who give so much. We’re incredibly grateful for their ongoing support.”
