Pleasurecraft Engine Group Honored With Outreach Award

COLUMBIA, S.C. – September 2, 2026 – Pleasurecraft Engine Group was honored with the Outreach Award at the 2026 South Carolina Workforce and Manufacturing Summit, hosted by South Carolina Manufacturers and Commerce (SCMC) and the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP) at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, South Carolina.
The annual awards recognize outstanding companies and professionals across South Carolina for achievements in leadership, innovation, operational excellence, workforce development, and community impact.
Pleasurecraft Engine Group was selected as the 2026 South Carolina Manufacturing Outreach Award winner for its ongoing commitment to Making Life Better for its employees, its community, and the people who serve it. Over the past year, Pleasurecraft has consistently invested time, resources, and heart into meaningful outreach initiatives that create a positive impact throughout the Midlands and surrounding communities.
Through its partnership with Keep the Midlands Beautiful, Pleasurecraft employees participate in environmental stewardship efforts, including the annual Lake Murray Clean-Up, helping preserve the waterways and recreational areas that are an important part of the local community. The company also supports local families through its annual food drives, including donating food to the Chapin We Care Center on World Hunger Day.
Pleasurecraft also proudly sponsors and supports the Carolina Sunshine Gala, helping raise funds to grant wishes for children facing life-threatening illnesses. Additionally, the company hosts its Annual First Responders BBQ, honoring more than 100 fire, EMS, law enforcement, military personnel, and veterans from Richland, Lexington, and Newberry Counties.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate Pleasurecraft Engine Group’s belief that being a South Carolina manufacturer means being an active and engaged member of the community.
“We are incredibly honored to receive the Outreach Award and to have our team’s efforts recognized alongside so many outstanding South Carolina manufacturers and professionals,” said Tommie Cochran, Vice President of Operations. “Our outreach initiatives are an important part of who we are as a company. Whether we are cleaning up local boat ramps with Keep the Midlands Beautiful, organizing our annual food drives, or supporting the Carolina Sunshine Gala, our employees are passionate about giving back and making a difference. We are proud of the impact our team continues to make in the Midlands and throughout South Carolina.”
SCMC President and CEO Sara Hazzard stated the importance of recognizing organizations that demonstrate leadership and service throughout the state.
“Each of these award recipients represent the very best of South Carolina,” said Hazzard. “Our state is home to so many talented professionals and great corporate citizens, and these awards give us an opportunity to recognize their leadership, service, and accomplishments. We are proud to celebrate this year’s honorees and the impact they are making across the state.”
Pleasurecraft Engine Group maintains its commitment to continuing its outreach efforts and strengthening its partnerships throughout the Midlands and across South Carolina.
