PLEASURECRAFT ENGINE GROUP WINS INNOVATION AWARD AT 2024 MIAMI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW

Miami Beach, FL (February 15, 2024) –  This morning at the 2024 Discover Boating® Miami International Boat Show® Innovation Breakfast, Pleasurecraft Engine Group was honored with another Innovation Award in the Inboard Engine Category for the new Pleasurecraft Marine’s (PCM) ZZ8R and ZZ8S engines.

This highest honor for innovation and technical achievement is judged and bestowed by Boating Writers International through product technical and video submission, as well as an in-person interview at the Miami International Boat Show.

For the 2024 model year, PCM answered the call of innovation with the new ZZ8 models, which include the industry’s first supercharged inboard tow sports engine with over 600 hp to run on 89 Octane fuel.  This is no small feat, and the need to balance performance while providing reliability has taken thousands of hours of engineering and validation to accomplish. For the new 2024 ZZ8 S and ZZ8R models, PCM developed a new ground-up marinization featuring a custom supercharger cooling circuit to provide the engine with cooler intake air temperature and higher performance. Utilizing this new marinization and custom calibration for engine optimization and protection, the mandate for premium fuel in supercharged boats is no longer!

Pleasurecraft President Trey Thurman stated, “We are honored to receive this Innovation Award. The dedication and drive that our engineering team has is second to none. For them to understand an issue that has challenged our customers and to commit thousands of hours to designing, developing, and validating an answer is one of many things that sets PCM apart. I am beyond proud of them and very happy that our industry peers acknowledge their accomplishment.”

The new PCM ZZ8 engine models are on display at the Miami International Boat Show in booth MB1900. For more information, follow @PCMengines on Facebook and Instagram and check out the website at www.pcmengines.com.
